International appeal to support the immediate release of a young Afghan Journalist

May I join the fray by asking the Afghan President to intercede and reverse the harsh conviction of the young Afghan journalist.
Even though the journalist erred the sentence would have been fair to him if it was a stern warning-NEVER DO THAT AGAIN than resolve to "cut shot his breathe".
As the common sages goes—experience is the best teacher and sky is the limit , so could have been the youngman#s drive oblivious of the dangers his article bored to the state, kindly I appeal to the State to forgive him.He will smart from this in future.
If indeed the President has enjoyed coverage from the Media before to articulate his government policies or agenda then this is the time to overturn the harsh verdict that has caused an international outrage among journalists.
Freeing the journalist would see the President go in record as one of the exemplary respected leaders with high respect to the freedom of information and human regard in respect to the rule of law.
