International appeal to support the immediate release of a young Afghan Journalist

Tell me again why we are sending our soldiers to Afghanistan.
Surely it cannot be to uphold the rights of a court to sentence 23-year-old journalism student Parwiz Kambakhsh to death for, according to RAWA (Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan), ’printing/distributing an article from the Internet, which points out controversial verses of the Quran regarding women’s rights. The book “Religion in the History of Civilization” (by Will Durant) taken from his living room has been kept as an evidence against him in the court!’
His only "crime" appears to be a desire to discover truth.
Please promptly release this young man in a safe manner.
